Notary Blog: Dude, They Stole My Car!?!

In the evening of Friday, August 5, 2016, I received a very frantic phone call from a repeat customer who was at wits end.    Although we were in the middle of family happenings, service to this customer would still soon be realized.  One of the perks of being a GreenvilleNotary.com customer is that we know when you call again. Well, usually. Sometimes our spidey-senses are off a little.

The situation looked grim for our customer who, after an unfortunate carjacking, needed to provide certain key documents to the towing company that recovered her vehicle.  Only thing is, EVERYTHING WAS IN THE CAR!  Yes, all of the pertinent and key ingredients to vouching for her identity were in the vehicle at the time of the Grand Theft. So what to do?

Well, we could tell you what to do, but you know what happens if we tell you…

Long story waaaaay short, a picture of her original Vehicle Bill of Sale was all she could find in order to prove that the actual transaction took place and that the vehicle belonged to her.  This document was sent via email to the notary, fixed up a bit, sent over to FedEx in a more readable format, printed and attached to an accompanying Jurat/Affiant Statement and VOILA!

Signed, Sealed, and by Monday morning… will be DELIVERED…   the GreenvilleNotary.com way.

All notarial work performed by GreenvilleNotary.com Owner and State of South Carolina Notary Public Sonita M. Leak.  Special thanks to Kyung Mook, and the staff at FedEx Office Copy and Print Center located at 550 Woods Lake Road, Greenville, SC 29607.
