“If you are purchasing a vehicle in South Carolina and registering it in another, please check that state’s laws in regard to notarization.”
While on assignment in Easley, South Carolina, a call rang in regarding a Bill of Sale. Thinking, “This number looks familiar,” I soon knew why.
The call was in reference to an out-of-state buyer purchasing a vehicle from none other than MY NEIGHBOR! Kudos to the neighbor and his out-of-state purchaser for having a document already drafted in reference to the transfer of title and having the signature of the seller (both parties in this case), which is the rule for departments of motor vehicles in choice states.
The signing occurred in the late afternoon of Thursday, April 28, 2016, so very close to home. Signing completed by your friendly, neighborly Notary Public for the State of South Carolina Sonita M. Leak.
