“Just so you know, a notary public has a duty and obligation to NEVER sign a document that is not completed…”
A quiet and quick two-document signing took place on the afternoon of Sunday, April 24, 2016. During the busy hubbub of what is Downtown Greenville, South Carolina now that the warm weather is among us, came a party whose availability to sit before a notary was nil to none during the week. Thanks to some quick thinking on the part of a loved one, the desire of receiving notary service on the weekend was put into action.
The main reason why the signing went smoothly and quickly is because the signer who appeared had all of the fillable form completed. Just so you know, a notary public has a duty and obligation to NEVER sign a document that is not completed (if it is fillable), never sign a document that is blank (no information) and must never sign a document that is party to illegal or fraudulent activity.
Just so you know, you, as a signer may fill out as much information on a form as you possibly know to fill. Signing before you appear before a notary is ill-advised as many notaries are unsure of how to handle a document that has been signed before arrival (Yes, It an be done). Also know that the purpose of the notary is to verify your identity and notarize your signature or signatures on a document, not to notarize the document itself.
This signing was performed by Certified Notary Public Signing Agent Sonita M. Leak at the Hyatt Regency Starbucks, 220 N. Main Street, Greenville, SC 29601.
