With every year that passes, I am thankful and grateful for all that God has placed in my life. Also with that, I’m thankful and grateful for all that God has REMOVED from my life. Although we all have our hangups, I am absolutely certain that God has placed me in this time and place for a reason. There are seasons in life that we must all go though. For some of us, we don’t pass the test. How many of you know that it’s all a test? If you get through the trials that you are faced with, you are deemed a survivor.
Over the many years, I have learned to grab hold a firmer grasp in my role as a Mother. Bringing up children is hard. No one tells you just how difficult it can be. Then add the role of an entrepreneur – an entrepreneur with two roles and many different dynamics in your business. At times, it is very, very difficult. But I wouldn’t take back one iota of the time and experience it has taken to get me this far. I have many things to be thankful for, even in the harsh times. So that goes into my Birthday on yesterday, November 1st.
In a fairyland world, your Birthday should be this perfect day from the storybooks. You get your Birthday licks from your family members, celebrate with Birthday cake and ice cream and receive a bevy of gifts.
Well, my most precious gift came in the form of a broken car key at AJ Whittenberg Elementary School. See, every Birthday, if my special day falls on a school day, I eat lunch with my children at school. On yesterday, while in commission of eating lunch, my son Johnnie, handling my keys, accidentally dropped them. Smiling, he then bends over to the lunchroom floor and pops up with a piece of a key! In my mind, I’m praying, “Please don’t be my car key, please don’t be my car key.” When I hold up the bulk of the car keys, yes, lo and behold, it happens to be the very car key I need to not only open the doors to my car, but start it and get from point A to point B.
Add being under the weather physically. Add LIFE. This is my point – things happen. Things even happen on your Birthday. Don’t take life for granted. I could have been down in the dumps all day long, and I won’t lie, for some part of the day, it was definitely felt. There are times in life where you will have that ‘aha’ moment, when you realize that everything won’t go perfectly right, or your way, but even in the standstill there is still purpose.
Keep living and keep surviving and keep pressing on. Oh….
And THANK YOU from the bottom of my heart for all the Birthday Wishes,
