Notary Blog & Podcast of Sonita M. Leak, CNSA From Greenville to Central to Clemson… What a Night! January 11, 2018 Greenville, SC I cannot stress enough the importance of taking daily naps. Because of an, ahem, lengthy nap had on this day, I was able to field three afternoon and evening assignments with ease.
It would be presumptuous for me to tell others to make a resolution list, especially since I don’t make them myself. I haven’t for many, many years. As a matter of fact, someone asked me JUST YESTERDAY what resolutions I had for the New Year 2018. My reply was not what they expected. I told them I didn’t have any and that if I resolve to do something, that it is for the long haul and that there is no ‘resolution’ for that. Read the post for some AWESOME Resolution Ideas from various sources.

With prior scheduling, most couples look to their Pastor or a local Minister to marry them. Many of the local Ministers and Pastors are also Notaries Public. They, with proper ordainment, already have the authority to marry these couples. Some couples choose to have a large formal ceremony. Some couples choose to have a small elopement before their larger ceremony. Some, just want the no-frills paperwork signing. If by chance you want the quick route to marriage, or if you just want to legalize the process before your ‘Big Shebang’ Ceremony later, a Notary Public might be your better option.
“My story all of this hit suddenly. One day I’m going to the fair with my daughter, early the next morning I’m in the hospital because i fell out of bed hit my head. The doctors find a massive brain tumor.
After having brain surgery because of the tumor, complications arose and I had to be revived. I had to spend almost a week in the Intensive Care Unit hooked to machines. What was supposed to be a 5-day stay turned into a month.”

During my trip to Spartanburg, South Carolina this morning, it brought back memories of Hatcher Garden, a very encompassing park that lies within the city. I am a firm believer in recreation, but how do you find time to enjoy nature when there is so much to do work-wise? Sometimes, just sometimes, you just have

Some Notaries are unfamiliar with the process altogether. There are a handful of us that know that the form should NOT BE STAMPED. Some forms come with Attestation forms or other acknowledgment forms for that very reason.

An example of a dire situation is when a person is admitted into ICU. There are tracheotomies, ventilators and other harsh conditions, such as paralysis that sometimes impede a signing when a person has been admitted into this ward. Hospital signings themselves can be tricky – maneuvering around HIPPA regulations (you cannot ask hospital staff if someone has Sound Mind), navigating the halls and room structure and sequestering family members are all a part of the job.
Not only will I notarize your document for you, I can also…

2) Securely send the document to a recipient by either email or fax;
3) Accept Credit and Debit Cards;
4) Provide Early and After Hours service for any of the options above.
Today’s consultation with a Bride getting married on Saturday, July 29, 2017 included conversation about what would happen should the wedding date be a rain-out. Many of the ceremonies I conduct happen impromptu, meaning, they are spur-of-the-moment ceremonies. The couple wants to get married, if not right at the moment, very soon. When you plan your ceremony ahead of time with me, you get added touches. For instance, coordination assistance, proper formatting and a rehearsal are all a plus when you are in the planning processes.

Why we are open on major holidays is a question asked often. The main reason is because the world does not turning and business usually goes back to normal the next day. People have deadlines and transactions still have to be made. Therefore, we stay OPEN FOR BUSINESS and are OPEN FOR BUSINESS during these critical times.

While sitting composing this post today, I learned that Anderson was the first city in the south to have electric power lines, hence its nickname, ‘The Electric City’ (and inspiration for our lightning bolt featured image).
