Why we are open on major holidays is a question asked often. The main reason is because the world does not turning and business usually goes back to normal the next day. People have deadlines and transactions still have to be made. Therefore, we stay OPEN FOR BUSINESS and are OPEN FOR BUSINESS during these critical times.
This post was written in Anderson, South Carolina. While sitting composing this post today, I learned that Anderson was the first city in the south to have electric power lines, hence its nickname, ‘The Electric City’ (and inspiration for our lightning bolt featured image). Michael at (read the full article for location information), thank you for this little tid bit about the City of Anderson!
Thanks to all of the crew members, especially Kendra, my server, for keeping me company while alternate moves had to be made today.

This is a Blog Digest of all assignments conducted from Sunday, March 6, 2017 until Saturday, March 11, 2017.
The weekend is a time to enjoy spending quality time with family, friends and loved ones. What happens when you run a business and have to include serving customers? You make it work. Over the past week, I’ve traveled to Walhalla, Seneca and even to Gaffney, South Carolina for assignments ranging from simple witnessing (today, March 14, 2017) to more complicated acknowledgment work (evening of Saturday, March 11, 2017). Forget March Madness according to basketball. This month has really been a busy start out of the gate and

Property Documents, Notary Application and a Limited Power of Attorney. What a whirlwind! While one signing was scheduled at the Zaxby’s located at 824 S. Church Street, Greenville, SC 29601, the second signing was scheduled for another location near White Horse Road earlier in the morning. The last signing, well, the last signing was a pop-up from out of the blue.
There are couples that are going through rough times, and for those, I say be strong, stay strong, fight for what you know is worth the fight. Lay down those things that are not worth the fight. Sometimes you have to give up things ‘you’ as a person hold dear as a sacrifice for what ‘is’ actually worth it.
An assignment for a Quitclaim Deed for Out-of-State property was conducted on Monday, February 13, 2017, on behalf of a shut-in resident of Simpsonville.

I LOVE YOU ALL for the work that you do for your constituents in all of your respective states!
At 3 o’clock a.m., the State of South Carolina resident and State of New York resident met mutually at the Pilot/McDonald’s of Highway I-85 to finalize their Uncontested Divorce paperwork.
Sometimes family members get away with having those in care allowing paperwork to be notarized because of the “I Love Them” factor (signing and allowing a document to be drafted sight unseen and notarized because they ‘feel’ their relative has their best interest at heart).
Today’s signing was realized at the previous signing location of FedEx Woods Lake, 550 Woods Lake Road, Greenville, SC 29607. A Jurat/Affiant Statement was printed and completed. The signature of the Affiant was then notarized by GreenvilleNotary.com Owner Sonita M. Leak.

My initial intention in attending the seminar was to gain some insight into what clients and families of the clients I served dealt with on a daily basis with the grief over the loss of a loved one. Not once in the days leading up to the seminar did I think, “How would this seminar relate to my
There are many companies all over the country that hire Notaries Public to perform various functions, not exclusive to notarizing signatures on paperwork. Companies look at Notaries as professionals when it comes to providing document services and making sure documents are signed correctly. That’s not to say that a Notary will not mess up.

Have you ever wondered, as either a patient or visiting family member or friend, what the hours of the different Dining Area location were within Greenville Memorial Hospital? See the hours posted below. BUT FIRST…. I’d like to send a special shout-out to the wonderful Cafeteria Cast & Crew for making our hospital stay as seamless as possible with many meal choices (and tasty ones).

One of my main focuses on this blog is to talk about situations involving Seniors and Senior Care. As I sit here in this hospital, as I have for several days, I realize that I have neglected to talk about the serious issue of what to do should the minor child of a parent become sick. Issues such as….
This execution occurred on the afternoon of Wednesday, January 18, 2016 near the Atrium Elevators of Greenville Memorial Hospital. The signing needed the assistance of two witnesses, none of which could be the Notary Public, as the signing was for a document that would be traveling Interstate and required the viewing of
oday’s transaction was on behalf of Kelly Services, yes the same Kelly Services that provides temporary placements for workers. Although there is a local Kelly Services office (located off of Garlington Road right here in Greenville), this work order arrived directly from Kelly Services Headquarters in Troy Michigan. In total, the transaction was…
On this day of remembrance of everything that Martin Luther King, Jr. stood for in the fight for equality, we are constantly reminded of the progress we’ve made as a nation. With progress have come shortcomings and hindrances, however, our outlook must remain a positive one. Today, take a moment of silence to remember those
A signing that was set for a rehabilitation facility located on Highway 14 in Simpsonville, South Carolina did not occur. It seems like we’ve had more and more occurrences where we are set to see patients within facilities, however, the transaction of signing paperwork does not occur because of one of many reasons. If you
When you show the love and compassion through the work that you do, it pays you back. It doesn’t just pay you back in small amounts; It pays you back tremendously! Periodically, I will shout out my customers, new and repeat. I would like to take a moment to let you all know that I
I get posed the questions a lot, “How do I become a Notary Public?” Also, “How do I know what we’re doing today is a valid notarial act?” It’s easy to say in reply, “Consult your attorney.” Buuuuuut, did you know that there is a COMPLETE State of South Carolina Notary Public Manual easily accessible by visiting
Just when you thought a Notary Public was not available to help you with your paper work, lo and behold! Whether we’re in the office, out and about, or just about anywhere GreenvilleNotary.com is available to help you with your documents. We received three calls in a 10-minute time span earlier in the day, however,
A local resident we’ve seen in previous weeks recently inquired about becoming a Notary Public. Today, or should I say, tonight, her application was SIGNED, SEALED, and will soon be delivered via mail.
The second signing, which occurred a few minutes later, was for a private POA matter.
This marriage was our first ceremony conducted in 2017. Married on Monday, January 2, 2017, the day was a first for another ceremonial accomplishment. This ceremony was the first ceremony conducted for two individuals with the exact same last name.
What does this mean for the couple?
2017 is here and it is a time for renewal, for looking back at 2016 and reflecting on the happenings of the year’s past. It’s a time not to just look at the past year’s events, it is a time to press forward with forward thinking. At times, thinking forward is difficult for some of
I could, in my position as a Notary Public, provide a service that is convenient, quick and professional in manner and conduct my activities as if it were strictly that. However, being the person that I am, I would feel as if I were doing a family a disservice by not upholding the supportive role I hold dear in empathizing and providing condolence when a family feels as though no one understands what they are going through.
Sometimes the monotony of a hospital room or an assisted-living apartment creates a depressing environment, and if I can be that person to cheer them up for that very moment, it was all worth it.
Did you know that if you have a document that needs to be signed and notarized by a Notary Public that the chaplain or a member of the Chaplain Services Department of the Greenville Health System will be able to assist in the witnessing thereof?
People that know about our service well know that the Notary Public will be available during ALL hours. This includes, but is not limited to, THANKSGIVING, CHRISTMAS, NEW YEAR’S DAY, EASTER, etc. What does that mean for you? It means that when you have that family member who needs emergency Notary Service at 2 a.m.,
A very complex, private assignment was carried out at this location on the afternoon of Friday, December 23, 2016. The assignment was assisted by Antron Holden, Sr., a student and mentee of GreenvilleNotary.com Owner Sonita M. Leak. Antron is the CEO and Owner of AikenNotary.com, based out of Aiken, South Carolina. Mr. Holden acted as witness during the transactions.
The I-9 form does not bind us to verifying the identification of the signers before us, as we cannot verify that a document is either an original or true copy.
The frantic search was on for a Notary Public for a local resident. The reason being? A flight out-of-country was imminent for one of a pair of flyers. Not wanting to miss their very important flight, the parties called on our services to assist them with their document. On the morning of Friday, December 22,
We want to reach out to our friends, family members, customers and clients of GreenvilleNotary.com to pray you all a Merry Christmas. My family would not be the family we are without LOVE and lots of PRAYER, (yes, sometimes we all get on each other’s nerves), but what is a ‘perfect’ family. I dedicate this
A potential parking catastrophe was averted when a signer who called into the notary line at 6:50pm appeared in the NO PARKING ZONE in front of Spill the Beans, 531 S. Main St, Greenville, SC 29601 on the evening of Thursday, December 22, 2016.
Notary on the road and you need something notarized? Not a problem. Well, usually. A signing occurred close to Noon on Monday, December 19, 2016. The signer was a Repeat Customer of GreenvilleNotary.com and was about to leave his location of the Hughes Main Library by Noon. If he missed his chance to get the document signed, the result would have been absolutely no good.
Although we at GreenvilleNotary.com are not attorneys, it is HIGHLY IMPORTANT to make sure you’ve covered your bases when conducting Interstate (state-to-state) transactions. Because North Carolina vehicle registration and titling facilities require notarization of the seller’s signature, it’s best that if you are conducting any type of interstate deal, that you have the signature of the seller notarized before the title leaves their hands.
Just so you know, most bank notaries and even choice other notaries in public offices that have not completed Signing Agent training for out-of-state documents are not aware of some of the Interstate laws; they may not complete a signing correctly. You can be assured that here at GreenvilleNotary.com, we have many years of training to ensure that the entire document process is taken care of.
On the way home from a full day worth of notary work, GreenvilleNotary.com Owner Sonita M. Leak was called back to Central Greenville, South Carolina for one last assignment. The call rang in at 10:13pm on the evening of Wednesday, December 14, 2016. The caller on the other end had an application for a Concealed
So, for the first time in GreenvilleNotary.com history, we visited two separate facilities related to one mission.
