2019 National Notary Association Conference | One Month Reflection

I wanted to take some time after this past 2019 National Notary Association Conference in St. Louis, Missouri to step back and see how it would affect my work life after I returned to the Greenville/Upstate, South Carolina area.

On this day, exactly one month ago, I readed myself to head out to St. Louis, Missouri for my first ever National Notary Association Annual Conference. Every year, I had the dream of attending at least ‘one’ conference in my lifetime. Not only was I excited to attend, I was excited to learn more about my duties as a Notary Public. One might say, “Well, you were one of the one’s being honored, so that means you know more than other Notaries Public.” While I might know a mass amount about my notarial duties, there is always, always room for improvement.

First, during conference I had the chance to meet notary colleagues I’ve had for quite some time via Social Media. I’d met a couple, for instance Daniel C. Lewis, who can claim Orangeburg, South Carolina as Hometown. Lewis, National Notary of the Year for 2010 is also the Owner of Lewis Notary Services, Inc., based in Indiana. During his Notary tenure, he also can be credited as the muscle behind the Indiana Notary Association, as Founder and President. You can read more about the Indiana Notary Association HERE.

Another successful link-up was with Tennessee Notary Public and Wedding Officiant Valise Jackson, Owner of Weddings by Valise, based in Lewisburg, Tennessee. If you are Wedding Officiant and you are looking for some original ideas on how to make the ‘day of’ extra special for your couples, you can take a look at her Wedding Facebook Business Page for insight.

Being a Notary Mentor is no easy task, so I had to give it up for Crystal Whiteside-Lemon, Owner of C&L Mobile Notary Service, LLC., based out of Jacksonville, Florida. She has been a mentor of mine probably since the inception of my business and I had to take my hat off to her for her role as Speaker during conference.

The Annual National Notary Association Conference is held once per year. Although based in Chatsworth, California, the National Notary Association holds their conferences all over the United States. The next conference for the year 2020 is set for Scottsdale, Arizona.

Each conference highlights, not only camaraderie, but a bevy full of workshops to hone notary skillsets. With remote and online notarizations on the rise across the country, this avenue of notary work was one feature of several workshops during the 2019 conference.
