A repeat customer of GreenvilleNotary.com visited our ‘Office’ at the Haywood Road Starbucks for two documents within a Presentment package. One of the documents was void of a signature page for the signer and notary, therefore an Individual Acknowledgment Form was attached. Another document package contained photocopies of some original documents that needed submission to the requesting party. Although notaries public in South Carolina cannot notarize original documents nor photocopies of such, what a signer CAN do is write an affidavit stating that the original and/or copies are true. As a notary, our job is not to decipher whether a document is a true version or true copy of an original.
Due to the nature of the signing, we won’t go into further details, however, we can tell you that a Jurat Statement Form was needed for one document within the package.
Assignment conducted by Certified Notary Public Signing Agent Sonita M. Leak.
