Another customer took advantage of the $5 School Document Discount this week. On the morning of Thursday, August 13, 2015, a local resident, along with the family they are hosting came to our Greenville, South Carolina location to have an Affidavit of Residence notarized.
This Affidavit can sometimes be confusing, as it may have the request for the host to sign, the supported family’s head of household sign or the document might request BOTH parties signatures.
Also, this document poses a large risk for fraud. Notaries public notarizing these documents should be highly aware of who is signing these types of documents to ensure that they have sound mind, are not being forced to sign by the urging of another party (duress), and ensuring that the proper person’s signature is on the bottom line.
